Meet Joyce
Hello and welcome!
Let me tell you a little about me and Lessons From Lyrics.
I am Joyce Marie, founder of LessonsFromLyrics.com. Early in my life I learned how much I enjoy helping people and that health is a priority for me.
In my first career as a registered dietitian I loved helping people with their diets. Then after my husband and I opened our clothing store, one of my favorite things to do was helping our customers.
After many successful years in business, we closed our store. From the proceeds of selling our custom-designed commercial building, we educated ourselves about how to find a smarter, easier way to make a living.
Our journey led us to self development events, marketing seminars and business opportunities. From each of these I received benefits as well as knowledge.
I learned and experienced different ways of healing and personal development and about how subconscious mind power affects you. I also learned about the power of the Internet and about marketing and business.
In January 2005 during a Life Directions workshop developed by Harv Eker, I wrote:
“My mission is to help people discover their own value and to brighten their lives with my smile and love”.
And much to my surprise, I discovered my gift of songwriting at that event. Not only that, but I found that I enjoyed singing solo onstage! Thank you, Harv!
Overcoming my fear to achieve singing by myself onstage is explained in my post “How’s Your Luck in Getting Unstuck?”
Since discovering my gift of songwriting, I have created lyrics and melodies for 23 songs, most of which influence self improvement. From these lyrics and melodies I will create inspirational music.
In my blog I include some of my lyrics when I write inspirational stories for you. These stories address topics such as Laws of Attraction, positive thoughts, overcoming fear, mind power, and stop procrastinating.
The people with whom I have shared my songs tell me that they have been very touched and inspired by them. So I know these songs are meant to be shared with as many people as possible.
Although I did not plan to sing on the recordings of my songs, I received encouragement to do so from Jorge Arguello (www.majical.com). Thank you, Jorge!
I met Jorge while we were students in a course taught by Alan R. Bechtold. From Alan I learned a lot about writing and marketing on the Internet. Through him I got connected to other mentors. Thank you, Alan!
Because Jorge encouraged me to sing, I bought an online course of voice lessons, and I practice improving my voice on most days. The voice exercises have paid off. My voice is much better because I took action and continue to do so.
Here’s another action I took. With my brother I recorded my spiritual song, ‘Fill My Heart With Love’. In the future I plan to have a website featuring that song.
