Have You Seen Susan Boyle Sing ‘I Dreamed a Dream’?

Do you have a dream that is yet to be fulfilled?

What’s stopping you?

Perhaps you need some inspiration.

And who better to inspire you than Susan Boyle. Before this week, Susan was just an ordinary, unemployed 47 year old woman from Scotland.

And then…

this week a video of her singingI Dreamed a Dream’ surfaced on the internet. That video is receiving millions and millions of views and 5 star ratings.

Although Susan doesn’t fit most people’s perception of beauty, she’s a diamond in the rough. Her beauty is within.

Watch the video of her appearance on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.

In the beginning of the video you see Susan confidently telling an interviewer: “I’ve always wanted to sing in front of a large audience. I’m gonna make that audience rock!”

Then she walks to the center of the stage with microphone in her right hand, left hand on her hip and head held high. When Simon Cowell asks her age, she proudly replies, “I am 47”, and Simon rolls his eyes…

As if you can’t possibly have talent if you are middle-aged and ordinary!

Unfazed, Susan puts her left hand on her hip and swings her hips left and right and says, “And that’s just one side of me.”

Simon asks, “What’s the dream?” to which Susan replies, “I’m trying to be a professional singer.”

People in the audience snicker. But shortly after Susan begins to sing, you see Simon and the female judge raise their eyebrows in amazement…and joy!

Susan’s song choice was very fitting for her debut into international fame, and it’s also fitting for you.

Here are the lyrics from ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserables that I want you to pay the most attention to:

“I dreamed a dream in time gone by,
When hope was high and life worth living.
I dreamed that love would never die.
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.

Then I was young and unafraid,
And dreams were made and used and wasted.
There was no ransom to be paid,
No song unsung, no wine, untasted.

But the tigers come at night,
With their voices soft as thunder,
As they tear your hope apart,
And they turn your dream to shame.”

Susan sings the lyrics beautifully and with grace and effortless power. And the audience screams and applauds her and gives her a standing ovation long before she finishes the song!

Look at the faces of the audience and see how Susan’s performance moves their emotions. In a moment’s time she transforms a large audience from being against her to cheering her on!

And then the stunning finale…She finishes the song and blows a kiss to the audience!

I love this woman! She has touched my heart with her spirit, belief, sincerity and integrity. I am so touched by her that I have tears in my eyes as I write. What an inspiration she is!

So I again ask you…

Do you have a dream that is yet to be fulfilled?

What’s stopping you?

You’re not going to let the tigers or anyone else steal your hopes and dreams, are you?

Believe in yourself and believe in your dreams. Let Susan inspire you!

Will this be your wake up call?

I’ve seen a few clips from Britain’s Got Talent, and I think it’s a lot better than American Idol and the other talent shows we have in America. It’s awesome to see the crowd and judges’ reaction to people like Susan. It makes you smile and feel good. I don’t get that feeling when watching the American talent shows.

Thanks for your comment, Brian. And remember to take the actions to achieve your dreams.

Ryan, what are you doihg to fulfill your dreams? Remember to take action!

I find happiness fishing, talking to my brother Brian…and listening to my sister-in-law, Joyce sing with her very sweet voice
