Are You Allowing The Laws of Attraction to Help You?

Are You Allowing The Laws of Attraction to Hel...

The other day I caught myself being guilty of the very thing my husband had recently been discussing. I wasn’t using the Laws of Attraction to help me. But more on my guilt later…

Brian had told me that he got upset when he was helping a friend, Bill, move some office equipment using a dolly.

Why did he get upset?

Because as Brian tried to guide the dolly for Bill, he heard Bill angrily say, “Don’t try to manage me!”

And as the day progressed, Brian heard Bill tell him those words again and again as he tried to help Bill.

Ouch! How words can hurt, especially when said in anger… by a friend you’re trying to help.

So, Brian was hurt, and he told me about the incident when he came home. He wasn’t so sure he wanted to continue his friendship with Bill… Bill seemed too full of negativity, and Brian didn’t feel appreciated.

Next day Brian went again to continue helping Bill.

And you know what Brian did?

As they were driving, Bill almost made the wrong turn. So, Brian said in a joking manner, “I noticed that you were about to take the wrong turn, but I didn’t want you to think I was going to manage you, so I didn’t say anything.”

Bill laughed and so did Brian.

Throughout the day while they worked, Brian made a joke about not wanting to manage Bill. He told Bill “Why would I want to manage you? I’ve got enough to manage just managing myself!” and both of them laughed.

As they worked, Bill told Brian that his assistant doesn’t listen to him. She just does what she wants to do.

Then later when Brian told Bill about something technical he needed to do, guess what?

Bill didn’t listen! And so he couldn’t get the machine to work.

Then Brian playfully whispered in Bill’s ear, “You didn’t listen!” and they both laughed.

Now I’m wondering…

What have you learned from this story?

Several years ago I wrote some lyrics of the song, ‘Empowered by My Wild Card’,
that can relate to it:

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

People often say
words that they don’t mean.
Just remember things
aren’t always what they seem.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Instead of getting angry or upset from the words of others, how could you handle the situation?

Brian did a great job using humor to turn a negative situation into something positive. Now he and Bill laugh more and have a better relationship.

If humor isn’t your style, what could you do?

How could you make a situation more positive?

Could you listen with your heart?

That’s what I forgot to do the other day when Brian was telling me to watch out for the trash can lids as I turned into our driveway.

Instead of listening with my heart, I snapped at him “I see them!” Then I quickly realized that he was just trying to be helpful, so I apologized.

Brian taught me a good lesson in telling me his experience with Bill. I caught myself being guilty and then redeemed myself.

It’s a good lesson for you, too, isn’t it?

Remember the Laws of Attraction because you attract what you project.

Remember to listen with your heart. Listen with love and act with love.

Let’s create better relationships. Let’s create peace!

Joyce, I’ve a tendency to get quite frustrated if the situation doesn’t go the way I want to, I mean if someone isn’t listening to me or doesn’t understand what I am trying to say. I know it’s my fault so I try to sometimes rephrase the whole thing but I shouldn’t get frustrated about it, it’s better to bend a little rather than break it completely. I am sure Bill would need Brian to help but for some reason, he’s not trusting him. This little jokes would have made him trust Brian better hehe that he really wanted to help him.
